Kevin McGuff, Nick Myers Receive New Contracts, Steve Rohlik Extended
Ohio State head football coach Ryan Day and men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann weren’t the only coaches to cash in on Wednesday.
The university also announced new contracts for women’s basketball coach Kevin McGuff and men’s lacrosse coach Nick Myers, as well as an extension for men’s hockey coach Steve Rohlik. All contracts – Day’s and Holtmann’s included – are subject to approval by the Ohio State University Board of Trustees on Thursday.
McGuff’s new contract is a four-year contract with a base salary of $675,000 and an annual compensation rate of $1.05 million. His new contract begins on July 1 and will run through the 2025-26 season, which would be his 13th at Ohio State.
His extension follows a Big Ten regular-season title for the women’s basketball team that finished the season with a 25-7 record and made an appearance in the Sweet 16 for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
Myers’ new contract is for five years and will tie him to Ohio State through 2027. He recently completed his 14th season at the helm for Ohio State and is the program’s all-time winningest coach. This past season, he led the Buckeyes to their fourth NCAA tournament berth since he became coach.
Rohlik did not receive a new contract but a two-year extension that keeps him in Columbus through the 2025-26 season. A two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year (2018, 2019), he is 162-127-36 in his nine seasons with the Buckeyes. Financial details were not released for either Myers or Rohlik.
