Marvin Harrison Jr. Expected To Be Available On Saturday Against Maryland
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said Tuesday that wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is expected to play on Saturday against Maryland.
Harrison suffered a sprained ankle on Sept. 23 against Notre Dame after being rolled up on while blocking for TreVeyon Henderson’s 61-yard touchdown run. He was then helped off the field and spent time in the injury tent before returning to the sideline and eventually coming back into the game, where he brought in a 6-yard reception on Ohio State’s next drive.
“I think that is a side of Marvin that I don’t know if people have seen yet,” quarterback Kyle McCord said last week. “Just his toughness. He could have easily just preserved himself in that moment. But that’s not who he is. It’s not the type of competitor that he is.
“And for him to come back and still have an impact, and obviously make plays right away and then have that huge catch on that last drive, I mean, I think that gives you everything you need to know about Marvin. The things that you can’t coach, and that was big for him to come back.”
During Ohio State’s off week, Harrison was also seen working with Ohio State’s Monarc Seeker, a robotic quarterback that delivers passes downfield for the wideout and appeared to be healthy, and Day now confirmed that Harrison will be available this week for the Buckeyes.
