Ohio State Wide Receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Wins Biletnikoff Award
Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was named the winner of the 2023 Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the best pass catcher in college football. He won the award by one vote, which according to the Biletnikoff Award Twitter is tied for the closest margin in the award’s history.
Harrison won the award over LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers and Washington receiver Rome Odunze.
Harrison finished the regular season with 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns which was also enough for him to earn a trip to New York for the Heisman ceremony as a finalist and to be named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
With this season, he became the only Ohio State pass catcher to ever eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in more than one year. In 2022, he had 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns in another year which he was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, but Jalin Hyatt received the honor over him.
Harrison hasn’t decided whether he will enter the 2024 NFL Draft, but if he does he leaves Ohio State with the sixth most receiving yards of all time with 2,613 yards in his three years as a Buckeye. He is third all time in receiving touchdowns behind only Chris Olave and David Boston.
