49ers’ Nick Bosa, Chase Young To Represent Ohio State In Super Bowl LVIII
Ohio State will be represented by two former Buckeyes in Super Bowl LVIII, as San Francisco 49ers defensive ends Nick Bosa and Chase Young will help lead their team against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 49ers overcame a 17-point deficit to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game, in part due to a pair of sacks by Bosa that helped limit the Lions to just a touchdown in the second half after leading 24-7 going into halftime, while Young had three tackles in the win.
The victory for the 49ers eliminated several former Buckeyes from Super Bowl contention, including Lions offensive linemen Taylor Decker and Jonah Jackson and long snapper Jake McQuaide. The Chiefs’ roster has no former Ohio State players, while the win for Kansas City eliminated Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison – also a former Buckeye – from the playoffs.
This will be the fifth time in six years that an Ohio State player has participated in the Super Bowl, with Bosa making his second appearance after the 49ers fell to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV in 2020. That also marked the last Buckeye to win a Super Bowl, as linebacker Darron Lee was on the Chiefs’ roster.
Super Bowl LVIII will kick off on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. on CBS, and will also stream on Paramount Plus.
