Ohio State has made its first addition of the offseason through the transfer portal, adding a commitment on Sunday from former Ohio University redshirt sophomore tight end Will Kacmarek (6-6, 256).
Kacmarek, a former defensive lineman in the 2021 recruiting class out of St. Louis, Mo., has two seasons of eligibility remaining. He redshirted his first season with the Bobcats, appearing in two games, and collected 42 receptions for 507 yards and two touchdowns over the last two seasons.
Ohio State is looking to fill depth in the tight end room which is expected to lose leader Cade Stover, who finished with 41 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns this season and is expected to enter his name into the NFL draft.
The Buckeyes also saw tight end Joe Royer enter the transfer portal since the season ended, but will return Gee Scott Jr. and Jelani Thurman, among others, and welcome incoming freshmen Damarion Witten and Max LeBlanc.
