Ohio State Adds Transfer Long Snapper John Ferlmann From Arizona State

Ohio State’s first transfer addition following the regular season came on Saturday as the Buckeyes earned a commitment from former Arizona State long snapper John Ferlmann.

Ferlmann (6-2, 225) was in Columbus for a visit on Saturday prior to announcing his commitment to Ohio State as a scholarship member of the team. He started all 12 games during this past season for the Sun Devils, Ferlmann’s redshirt freshman season, and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

He is a native of Phoenix, Ariz., and played high school football at Boulder Creek. He was a five-star prospect and the No. 7 long snapper out of high school, according to Rubio’s Long Snapping.

Ohio State is losing longtime long snapper Bradley Robinson, who was lost for the season after suffering a knee injury against Iowa but will still exhaust his eligibility following this season. Walk-on Mason Arnold filled in during the remainder of the regular season but will likely compete with Ferlmann – along with walk-on Max Lomonico – for the starting job.
