Ohio State Aiming For April 17 Spring Game
During his National Signing Day press conference on Wednesday morning, Ohio State head coach said the Buckeyes are hoping to play their annual spring game on April 17.
“We’re kind of projecting out right now. It’s kind of a soft schedule based on a lot of things, but we’re hoping we can play the spring game that April 17 weekend,” Day said. “We’ll probably start the beginning of March, have four weeks of spring ball. That’s not set in stone right now, but that’s what we’re targeting.”
Ohio State held just two spring practices last year before the Big Ten suspended all team activities and eventually cancelled all spring sports due to the coronavirus pandemic. A full spring slate this year is paramount, though, as will give freshmen quarterbacks Jack Miller and C.J. Stroud and early enrollee Kyle McCord some valuable reps as they look to replace the departed Justin Fields under center.
