Ohio State Alumni Team Carmen’s Crew Beats Purple Hearts 93-58 In First Round Of The Basketball Tournament
In the first round of The Basketball Tournament, Carmen’s Crew got off to a hot start, beating the Purple Hearts by a score of 93-58 on Saturday to advance to the second round. The 35-point win was the largest margin of victory for Carmen’s Crew all-time.
The leading scorers for Carmen’s Crew were Andre and Kaleb Wesson, who had 12 points each in the game, followed by Desonta Bradford and Jamel Morris – both of whom didn’t play at Ohio State in college – with 11 points each.
In Jared Sullinger’s return to the tournament, he scored nine points while Keyshawn Woods scored eight points and Kyle Young scored seven.
It was a 21-0 run at the beginning of the second quarter that helped Carmen’s Crew get out to such a big lead that they were able to hold onto the rest of the game.
Their next game will be Monday against the Dayton Red Scare at 8 p.m. played at Dayton’s UD Arena and it will be televised on FS2.
