The Buckeyes are looking to win their sixth straight season opener when they take on Saint Joseph’s at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon at North Charlotte Regional Park, followed by games against Pittsburgh and Indiana State on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, at CoolToday Park — the spring training home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves.
First pitch against the Panthers is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., while the matchup with the Sycamores begins at 11:30 a.m.
This marks the 10th season for head coach Greg Beals, who has posted a 297-230-1 record at Ohio State. The Buckeyes captured the Big Ten Tournament championship and made it to the Nashville Regional of the NCAA Tournament under his direction last season.
This weekend’s slate marks the first three games of a 14-game road trip to begin the season. Up next for Ohio State is a trip to Atlanta for a three-game set against No. 21 Georgia Tech on Feb. 21-23.
