Ohio State Center Josh Myers Declares For NFL Draft

Josh Myers, one of Ohio State’s captains and a two-year starter on the offensive line, announced Friday his decision to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.

“Playing for Ohio State has been the pleasure of my life. I got to go places and see things that I couldn’t have imagined for myself in my wildest dreams,” Myers wrote in the tweet. “Ohio State will always hold an incredibly dear place in my heart, and I will undoubtedly miss it.

“Playing in the NFL has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and I am extremely excited to say that I am officially declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.”

Myers was the starting center in both 2019 and 2020, helping that offensive line be nominated as a Joe Moore Award finalist in 2019 and semifinalist in 2020, an award that goes to the best line in the country.

As far as personal achievements, Myers was a first-team All-Big Ten member and was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy that goes to the best center in college football.

Myers, a former four-star out of Miamisburg, Ohio, is the first member of Ohio State’s offense to declare for the NFL draft, with punter Drue Chrisman and cornerback Shaun Wade declaring earlier Friday.
