Ohio State Center Luke Wypler Declares For 2023 NFL Draft
Ohio State third-year center Luke Wypler announced Tuesday that he is entering his name in the 2023 NFL Draft, forgoing his remaining three seasons of eligibility.
Wypler started every game over the last two seasons for Ohio State center, and tied the as the offensive leader in snaps this season with 827 plays under his belt. Over his three seasons at Ohio State, he’s developed a strong rapport with quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is expected to join Wypler in declaring for the draft.
“I love him to death,” Stroud said earlier this season. “He’s my brother for life. He’s super smart, the smartest offensive lineman I’ve ever met in my life.”
A former four-star prospect out of Montvale, N.J., Wypler was a four-star prospect out of high school, joining Ohio State in the 2020 recruiting class. He played in one game during his redshirt freshman season before claiming the starting job prior to 2021, and in two years with Wypler under center, Ohio State’s offense has been among the best in the country.
With Wyler’s declaration, this means Ohio State will now be looking for a new center and pair of offensive tackles next season, with Paris Johnson Jr. and Dawand Jones both entering into the draft as well.
