Ohio State freshman cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt became the latest “official” member of the team on Wednesday after shedding his black stripe.
Simpson-Hunt, a summer enrollee out of Waxahachie, Texas, was the No. 62 overall prospect and eighth-ranked cornerback in the class, and his got his first action for the Buckeyes this past weekend in Ohio States’ 35-16 win over Rutgers, primarily appearing on special teams.
He is the 17th freshman and 32nd overall player to lose his black stripe since spring practice, and is the first since walk-on running back Willtrell Hartson did so on Nov. 1.
