Ohio State Gets Leaped By Notre Dame, Stays At No. 3 In AP, Coaches polls
Ohio State may have jumped Clemson in both the Amway coaches poll and the Associated Press Top 25 poll, but it remained at No. 3 following their 49-27 win over Rutgers
The Buckeyes did not move up following their win, despite a loss that dropped Clemson from the top spot to No. 4, because of who the Tigers went up against. Notre Dame, who was ranked fourth in both polls the week prior, jumped the Buckeyes to move to No. 2 after its 47-40 double overtime victory.
Both Ohio State and the Fighting Irish trailed No. 1 Alabama by a large margin in the polls, with the Crimson Tide earning 55 and 59 first-place votes in the AP and coaches poll, respectively. Ohio State had a combined five first-place votes (one in AP, four in coaches) across both polls.
Indiana, who is now 3-0 and earned a dominant 38-21 win over Michigan, moved up to No. 10 in both polls. Also from the Big Ten, Wisconsin ranked at No. 13 and 14 in the AP and coaches poll, respectively, while Northwestern made its way into both polls at No. 23.
Maryland, Purdue each received votes in both polls, but did not crack the top 25, while Michigan only received votes in the coaches poll.
