ESPN ranked its top 100 players going into the college football season on Thursday, and Ohio State had eight players featured on the list.
Safety Caleb Downs (No. 11), wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (No. 28), defensive end Jack Sawyer (No. 33), running backs Quinshon Judkins (No. 34) and TreVeyon Henderson (No. 35), left guard Donovan Jackson (No. 57), defensive lineman Tyleik Williams (No. 58) and cornerback Denzel Burke (No. 80) were among the top 100 players in college football according to the ESPN staff.
There were no Buckeyes listed in the top 10, but Downs was the second highest-ranked safety behind just Georgia’s Malaki Starks who came in at No. 10.
Michigan had two players in the top five of the list with defensive tackle Mason Graham listed as the second-best player in college football and cornerback Will Johnson at fourth in the game.
The Buckeyes have been well-represented in all kinds of preseason recognition lists like individual award watch lists and preseason All-American teams.
