Ohio State Hires UAB Defensive Line Coach Miguel Patrick As Defensive Assistant

According to a report from Lettermen Row, Ohio State has hired Miguel Patrick to be a defensive assistant. Patrick returns to Columbus after a two-year stint with UAB where he was the defensive line coach. Before he joined the Blazers, he had spent the 2022 season with OSU as a defensive quality control coach.

Patrick will be a defensive quality control coach for the Buckeyes.

He joins former UCLA defensive line and outside linebackers coach Tony Washington Jr., who was hired by the Buckeyes on Saturday, as new coaches on staff who have experience coaching the defensive line.

Last season, the Blazers had 18 sacks as a team, which was 111th in the country and 48 tackles for loss. In Patrick’s first year with the tame, they had 49 tackles for loss and 27 sacks, which was 53rd in the nation.
