Following a pair of commitments on Saturday from four-star cornerback Bryce West (5-11, 177) and four-star tight end Damarion Witten (6-4, 215) – both out of Cleveland Glenville – Ohio State now holds the second-best recruiting class in 2024, according to 247Sports.

Ohio State has 16 commitments in the class, totaling a team score of 267.32, trailing only Georgia, which has 20 commitments and a 296.06 team score. The Buckeyes, however, boast a .9331 average player rating, which is second-best in the country behind Alabama’s .9436 average player rating, though the Crimson Tide have just eight commitments.
The additions of West and Witten pushed Ohio State ahead of Michigan in the overall rankings, with the Wolverines now sitting at third with 22 commitments and a 261.15 team score. The top five is rounded out by Florida (16 commitments, 255.58) and Notre Dame (21 commitments, 254.96).

Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Penn State holds the sixth-best class in the country with 20 commitments – 12 of which are four-star prospects – and a 245.91 team score. Minnesota at No. 16 (23 commitments, 206.32), Nebraska at No. 17 (17 commitments, 196.27), Wisconsin at No. 20 (14 commitments, 190.21) and Rutgers at No. 23 (18 commitments, 184.96) are the only other conference competition within the top 25.
Ohio State’s pair of five-star commits – wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham – are tied for the third most in the country, with Alabama and Georgia each boasting three five-star pledges and Clemson and Florida both holding two each.
The Buckeyes’ 12 four-star prospects are tied for third (along with Penn State), trailing only Michigan’s 13 four-stars and Notre Dame’s 14 four-stars.
