Ohio State Jumps Over Michigan To No. 2 In AP Top 25 Before Rivalry Week
Ohio State got the first punch of rivalry week in, jumping Michigan in the latest AP Top 25 Poll after a 37-3 win over Minnesota.
The No. 2 Buckeyes are up to their highest AP ranking of the season, behind only No. 1 Georgia who received 61 of 62 first-place votes. Ohio State received the only other vote for first place. Michigan fell to No. 3 after a 31-24 win over Maryland.
Washington also moved up in the rankings to No. 4, taking the spot from undefeated, now-No. 5 Florida State which lost quarterback Jordan Travis to a bad leg injury in its win.
Other Big Ten teams represented in the rankings are No. 11 Penn State and No. 20 Iowa.
Rounding out the top 10 are No. 6 Oregon, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Louisville and No. 10 Missouri.
No. 24 James Madison took the biggest tumble this week, falling from 18th in the poll after being upset by Appalachian State in overtime. No. 19 Kansas State shot up the rankings the most from 23rd, where they were last week, beating Kansas 31-27.
