Ohio State Linebacker Baron Browning Declares For NFL Draft
Ohio State senior linebacker Baron Browning announced Monday that he will not be using the extra eligibility from the NCAA and will be entering the 2021 NFL Draft.
“It’s difficult to put into words what my time at Ohio State has meant to me. I came to this university because I wanted to go to a school that could develop me off the field just as much as it could on it. The Ohio State University did that for me, and then some,” Browning said in the tweet. ““I would also like to thank my family and the rest of my support system back home. I couldn’t ask for a better one, always sticking by my side through the highs and lows. For that, I am forever grateful. I’d like to announce that I’m declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.”
Browning, a former five-star recruit out of Kennedale, Texas, finished his final season for the Buckeyes with 30 tackles (20 solo), three tackles for loss, a sack, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Over his collegiate career, he tallied 110 tackles (65 solo), 18 TFL, seven sacks, three pass breakups and the two forced fumbles and recoveries.
“I want to thank all of the coaches on our staff, especially coach Day, coach Washington, coach Mick and coach Mattison. The player and person I am today is because of the life lessons and fundamentals I’ve learned from them,” Browning said. “Thank you to the brotherhood. Everything we went through this past year as a team only brought our brotherhood closer together. I can honestly say I’ve built relationships that will last a lifetime and will definitely miss the brotherhood.
