Ohio State Men’s Basketball Drops To No. 5 In AP Poll
Following a 67-59 loss to West Virginia, only its second loss of the season, Ohio State fell from the No. 2 spot to the No. 5 spot in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
Gonzaga, Duke, Kansas and Oregon round out the rest of the top five, ranking No. 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
The Mountaineers, who came into the matchup with the Buckeyes the No. 22 team in the country, moved up six spots to No. 16, and are 11-1 on the season.
The Buckeyes are still the top ranked team in the Big Ten, with Michigan (No. 12), Michigan State (No. 14), Maryland (No. 15), Penn State (No. 21) and Iowa (No. 23) making up the other teams in the conference that are in the top 25. Purdue received 12 votes and Indiana received five as a pair of Big Ten teams sitting just outside the poll.
Along with the victory over the Nittany Lions, Ohio State has ranked wins over No. 10 Villanova and No. 17 Kentucky.
