Based on the rankings of several recruiting outlooks, Ohio State’s recent run in recruiting has led to the Buckeyes now holding the consensus top recruiting class in the country.
The Buckeyes’ class now features 12 commitments, with two five-star wide receivers and eight other four-star prospects. Their most recent commitments came from Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star tight end Max LeBlanc (6-4, 222) and Pickerington (Ohio) North three-star running back Sam Williams-Dixon (5-11, 203), who both committed on Saturday.
According to 247Sports team composite rankings, this gives Ohio State a team score of 230.23, which is tops in the country ahead of No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 LSU and No. 5 Florida State. Ohio State’s recruiting class is not just quantity over quality, either, as the Buckeyes’ .9336 average player rating is fourth behind only Alabama (.9584), Florida (.9460) and Georgia (.9422).
On3’s industry rankings have Ohio State first ahead of No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Alabama and No. 5 South Carolina, while Rivals has identical rankings to 247Sports’ top five.
