Ohio State Only School With Four First-Round Picks In 2025 NFL Draft

By April 25, 2025 (9:50 am)Football

The breadth of talent on Ohio State’s 2024 national championship team was on full display in round one of the 2025 NFL draft held on Thursday night when four Buckeyes were selected, the most by any school. Ohio State was just ahead of Georgia and Michigan, which both had three players selected.

Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (No. 19 overall selection, Tampa Bay Buccaneers), offensive lineman Donovan Jackson (No. 24 overall, Minnesota Vikings), defensive tackle Tyleik Williams (No. 28 overall, Detroit Lions) and offensive tackle Josh Simmons (No. 32 overall, Kansas City Chiefs) became the first quartet of college teammates to be selected in the first round since Georgia in 2022, which had five players selected.

It was also the fourth time Ohio State has had four or more first-round picks, producing five in 2016 and 2006 and four in 1971.

With four players going in the first round once again, Ohio State has now extended its all-time lead of most first-round NFL draft picks to 95. USC is the next closest school with 86.

Ohio State has a chance to create more history this weekend as many expect the program to produce 15 total draft picks throughout the seven rounds, which would tie the all-time record for most players from one school selected in a single draft. Georgia currently owns the record, which it set in 2022.

Rounds 2-3 of the 2025 NFL draft will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, with rounds 4-7 starting at noon on Saturday.

Buckeye Sports Bulletin will provide up-to-date draft coverage throughout those two days.
