Ohio State Overtakes Notre Dame As Top Recruiting Class In 2023
Ohio State’s recruiting run over the past week have catapulted the Buckeyes to the top of the class rankings.
With a team score of 256.79, Ohio State has surpassed Notre Dame – which has a team score of 251.59 – to become the top class in 2023 with under six months to go until the early signing period begins.
The Buckeyes began last week outside of the top five of the 247Sports team composite rankings, but Ohio State earned four high-profile commitments in the last eight days to give the class a major boost.
These recruits include a trio of top-50 wide receiver in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage five-star Brandon Inniss (6-0, 190), Rolesville, N.C., four-star Noah Rogers (6-2, 180) and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star Carnell Tate (6-2, 185) as well as Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove four-star cornerback Kayin Lee (5-11, 185), who committed to Ohio State on Monday.
Beyond having the top class, Ohio State also has the second-highest average player rating of 94.12, which trails only Alabama’s 95.34. The Crimson Tide, with just seven commitments, are 20th in the team rankings.
