Ohio State added the team’s first wide receiver commitment in 2025 on Monday, earning a verbal pledge from Cocoa, Fla., three-star wideout Jayvan Boggs (6-0, 188).
Boggs is the No. 368 overall prospect and No. 50 wide receiver in the class, though rankings – especially at this point in the cycle, more than a year away from the early signing period for 2025 – do not mean much considering offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Brian Hartline’s track record of identifying talent early.
Boggs holds additional offers from Boston College, Colorado, Florida, Louisville, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia, among others, and picked up his offer from the Buckeyes after camping at Ohio State this past summer.
He collected 41 receptions for 722 yards and six touchdowns last season for Cocoa, and is also former teammates with current Ohio State freshman safety Cedrick Hawkins. Through six games this season, Boggs has already surpassed those marks with 48 receptions for 779 yards and 14 touchdowns, making it easy to see why Hartline identified Boggs as a key target for the Buckeyes.
Boggs becomes the second commitment in Ohio State’s 2025 class, joining Bellefontaine, Ohio, four-star quarterback Tavien St. Clair (6-4, 210), who committed to the Buckeyes in June.
