Ohio State Ranked Second In Preseason Coaches Poll

Ohio State is officially ranked second in the preseason Coaches Poll, behind only No. 1 Georgia, when it was released by USA Today on Monday.

The Bulldogs received 46 of the 55 first place votes in the poll with the Buckeyes receiving seven of the votes. Oregon, in its first season in the Big Ten, is the third ranked team, receiving no votes for first place. Fourth place Texas, now in the SEC received a first place vote as well.

Michigan, the defending national champions, were the next highest ranked Big Ten team at No. 8 and received one first place vote.

There are six teams in the Big Ten ranked in the top 25 with Penn State at No. 9, just trailing the Wolverines, USC at No. 23 and Iowa at No. 25. Washington just missed the top 25, receiving the most votes of any team that missed out. Maryland also received votes.

Rounding out the top 10 were Alabama (fifth), Ole Miss (sixth), Notre Dame (seventh) and Florida State (10th).
