Ohio State Ranks Third In Directors’ Cup Standings

Boasting strong seasons across sports like football, women’s hockey and soccer, Ohio State’s athletic department ranked third in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings through the winter season.
Ohio State’s 794.75 total points are only behind second-place North Carolina, which has 896.75 points and first-place Stanford, which has 904 points.
The Buckeyes ended the Winter season with 13 programs from either fall or winter sports seasons that competed in either NCAA championships or the College Football Playoff and therefore contributed points to Ohio State’s standing in the Director’s Cup.
The football team, which won the national championship, the women’s hockey team, which made the national championship game and the soccer team, which made it to the College Cup Semifinals, were Ohio State’s most successful programs in the winter and fall. The wrestling team, men’s gymnastics team, men’s hockey team and women’s soccer team all finished inside the top-10 in their respective NCAA Championships. Women’s cross country, women’s basketball, men’s swimming and diving, women’s swimming and diving and women’s gymnastics also have contributed to Ohio State’s third-place standing in the Director’s Cup
