Ohio State remains at No. 2 in the AP Top 25 after beating Akron 52-6 in Week 1.

Ohio State shrugged off a slow start against the Zips, ultimately beating them in dominant fashion as they were expected to, but Georgia remains No. 1 going into the second week of the season after beating Clemson 34-3.

There was some movement in the top 10, with Oregon dropping down to No. 7 after struggling with FCS Idaho in a 24-14 win. Texas takes the Ducks spot at No. 3, followed by No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 8 Penn State, No. 9 Missouri and No. 10 Michigan.

The Wolverines also dropped in the rankings, falling from No. 9 after beating Fresno State 30-10. It was a 10-3 game going into the second half and Michigan didn’t pull away until the fourth quarter when it put up 17 of its 30 points.

Along with the four top 10 Big Ten teams were USC at No. 13 and Iowa at No. 21, which blew out Illinois State 40-0 in a week where head coach Kirk Ferentz was serving a self-imposed one-game suspension for recruiting violations. They move up from No. 25.

The Trojans made the biggest jump in the rankings, beating now-No. 18 LSU 27-20 on Sunday night. They jumped 10 spots from their preseason ranking of No. 23.

The biggest faller was Florida State, which went into the week ranked No. 10, and after losing its second straight game, this one 28-13 to Bill O’Brien and Boston College, the Seminoles fell completely out of the top 25. Clemson dropped 11 spots from No. 14 after its loss to the Bulldogs.
