Ohio State Running Back Master Teague III Declares For NFL Draft
Ohio State redshirt junior tailback Master Teague has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, ending his career in college football after four seasons with the Buckeyes.
Teague’s announcement comes as something of a surprise, as he found himself buried in Ohio State’s depth chart this season, and was considered a transfer portal candidate. The Tennessee native carried the ball 67 times for 355 yards and four scores on the season, splitting reps behind leading rusher TreVeyon Henderson with redshirt freshman Miyan Williams, who rushed 71 times for 508 yards and three scores.
Teague’s best game of the season came against Michigan State, when he toted the rock 21 times for 95 yards and a touchdown, which was met with cheers of “Teague” throughout Ohio Stadium in what ended up as his final home game.
He contributed across three seasons for the Buckeyes, backing up J.K. Dobbins in 2019 and nearly gaining 1,000 yards on the year in so doing and working in tandem with starter Trey Sermon in 2020.
The 5-11, 225-pound halfback will hope to prove himself worthy of NFL attention at Ohio State’s pro day.
