Ohio State Running Back Trey Sermon Leaves National Championship With Injury

According to a report from ESPN’s Maria Taylor, Ohio State senior running back Trey Sermon is headed to a local hospital for x-rays after injuring his collarbone on the Buckeyes’ first offensive possession of the national championship.

Sermon entered the game against Alabama with 868 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the season, including 524 yards and three scores in wins over Northwestern and Clemson. He was seemingly injured on his lone carry, a one-yard run that left him unable to lift his left arm above his head before he walked to the locker room.

Sophomore Master Teague has played well with Sermon out, carrying the ball seven times for 29 yards and two touchdowns.
