Ohio State sophomore forward Aaron Bradshaw has returned to the team after missing over two weeks due to a university investigation into an alleged domestic incident that occurred at his off-campus apartment.
Head coach Jake Diebler confirmed the news on his radio show on Monday.
“Aaron is back with our team after the university concluded its process,” Diebler said. “There’s going to be a return-to-play aspect. There’s no firm timeline for what that looks like but he will be back with our team. Regarding the process, we can’t comment further.”
Bradshaw had missed the last five games for Ohio State, a span that saw the Buckeyes go 3-2, defeating Campbell on Nov. 22, Green Bay on Nov. 25 and Rutgers on Saturday and falling to Pittsburgh on Nov. 29 and Maryland last Tuesday. The university released a statement just before the Evansville game that the 7-1 sophomore center was not participating in team activities for a reason that could not be explained due to “federal privacy laws.”
“Aaron Bradshaw is not currently participating in team activities,” the statement read. “The university is following its established process. Due to federal privacy laws, we cannot share further information at this time.”
Bradshaw’s return would be a welcome sight for an Ohio State team who has been rather thin in the frontcourt since his absence, giving more minutes to now-starter Devin Royal and sophomore center Austin Parks, among others. It is currently unclear when Bradshaw will pass the program process and return to the court for the Buckeyes.
Bradshaw, who transferred from Ohio State from Kentucky this offseason, had started the first four games of the season for the Buckeyes, averaging 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds on 11-of-29 shooting.
Ohio State’s next game is Saturday afternoon against No. 2 Auburn in Atlanta.
Buckeye Sports Bulletin will have more on this breaking news story.
