Ohio State Suspends Leading Scorer Kaleb Wesson
The Ohio State men’s basketball team will be without its leading scorer for a period of time as it makes a final push for an NCAA Tournament bid.
Buckeye head coach Chris Holtmann announced Friday afternoon that sophomore center Kaleb Wesson was suspended “for a violation of Ohio State Athletics Department policy.” No exact timeline for the suspension was provided, but a university release said Wesson would “return this season.”
The Westerville (Ohio) South product leads the Buckeyes with 14.6 points per game this season. He’s also the team’s top rebounder at 6.7 per game.
Ohio State sits at 18-10 overall but the Buckeyes have a losing record – 8-9 – in the Big Ten, sitting at seventh in the conference. Ohio State is set to face No. 14 Purdue on Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.
