Ohio State Trending For Five-Star DL Dylan Stewart Following Commitment Of Justin Scott
After Sunday’s commitment from Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott (6-4, 310), Ohio State could be in line to add another highly-touted prospect in the 2024 recruiting class.
Following Scott’s commitment, several crystal ball predictions came in on 247Sports for Ohio State to land Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy five-star defensive end Dylan Stewart (6-5, 235), a priority target for the Buckeyes and defensive line coach Larry Johnson.
Stewart recently included Ohio State among his top schools, along with Georgia, Maryland, Miami (Fla.) and South Carolina, and he took his official visit to Columbus from June 16-18. He notched 16 sacks last season and is viewed as the No. 9 overall prospect and second-ranked defensive end in the class.
Ohio State is also in the game for Chicago Kenwood Academy four-star defensive end Marquise Lightfoot (6-5, 220), who is announcing his commitment Monday evening, as well as Buford, Ga., five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston (6-3, 255), who will announce his commitment on Aug. 22.
With the way Ohio State’s recruiting is trending on the defensive side of the ball, the Buckeyes – should they land their priority targets such as Houston, Lightfoot and Stewart, as well as Springfield, Ohio, four-star cornerback Aaron Scott (6-0, 170) and Buford, Ga., five-star safety KJ Bolden (6-1, 185) – could be in contention for the top recruiting class in 2024.
