Ohio State Wide Receivers Coach Brian Hartline Nominated For Broyles Award
Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline was named a nominee for the Broyles Award, an award that goes to the top assistant coach in college football.
Hartline was one of 56 nominees, and one of seven from the Big Ten, after helping coach two of the top receivers in the country in junior Chris Olave and sophomore Garrett Wilson. The duo each ranks in the top 15 in both yards per game (Wilson 8th, Olave 14th) and receptions per game (Olave 12th, Wilson 15th).
Off the field, much of Hartline’s success has also come on the recruiting trail, where he is on pace to bring in at least one five-star wide out in every class since 2019, including two in 2020 in Julian Fleming and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Hartline took over as wide receivers coach for the 2018 season following the firing of Zach Smith, and has helped lead a receiving group that includes NFL names like Parris Campbell, K.J. Hill and Terry McLaurin.
