Ohio State Will Face UConn, Ball State For 1st Time In 2025-26

By March 4, 2020 (8:00 am)Football

For the first time in program history, Ohio State will take on UConn and Ball State on the gridiron.

The Buckeyes will host Connecticut, who plays in the American Athletic Conference in 2025, with a home matchup against Ball State from the Mid-American Conference in 2026.

The game between Ohio State and UConn will take place in Ohio Stadium on Oct. 18, 2025, coming in between Big Ten road games for the Buckeyes at Wisconsin Oct. 11, and at Rutgers Oct. 25.

By adding UConn to the 2025 nonconference slate, Ohio State completed its 2025 schedule. The Scarlet and Gray have nonconference home matchups against Texas on Aug. 30 to open the season and, following an open date, against Washington on Sept. 13 for a rematch of the 2019 Rose Bowl.

Ohio State will host Ball State in Columbus on Sept. 5, 2026 for its season opener. The Big Ten-MAC battle precedes a Big Ten/Big 12 matchup between Ohio State and Texas in Austin, Texas, the next week on Sept.12. Ohio State still has one open date for 2026, and the Big Ten schedule has yet to be released.
