Ohio State Wrestling Coach Tom Ryan Involved In Non-Life Threatening Car Accident Tuesday Morning
Ohio State wrestling coach Tom Ryan was involved in a car accident on Tuesday morning on his drive to work.
He was transported to the Wexner Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries according to a statement released by the university which also said nobody else was hurt in the accident.
“University and department of athletics staff members have Tom and his family in their thoughts,” the statement read.
Ryan has been the head coach for Ohio State wrestling since 2006 where he has had great success, winning a national championship in 2015 and coming close many other times, finishing as a runner up in 2008, 2009, 2017, 2018 and 2019
He was elected into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023, and continued his winning ways with the Buckeyes in the 2023-24 season with a 15-2 dual record and an individual national champion with Jesse Mendez winning at 141 pounds. The team finished eighth in the NCAA championships.
