Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins To Enter NFL Draft

Junior running back J.K. Dobbins announced Monday that he would forgo his final season of eligibility at Ohio State and enter the NFL Draft.

Dobbins cemented himself as one of the top backs in Ohio State history with a historical junior season. In 2019, Dobbins ran 301 times for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns, while also earning 23 catches for 247 yards and two scores.

He became the first rusher in Ohio State history to amass 2,000 yards on the ground, and moved to No. 2 all-time in program rushing yards with 4,459, trailing only Archie Griffin.

Dobbins also joined Griffin as the only rushers in school history to break 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons, though Dobbins was the first to do so in his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.

After finishing as a Second-Team All-Big Ten member his first two seasons, Dobbins was awarded as a First-Team member in 2019, and was also a four-time winner of Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

This season, Dobbins was a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award, which is given to the nation’s top running back, and also finished in sixth place in Heisman Trophy voting.

With Dobbins departing, the running back room now consists of redshirt freshman Master Teague, as well as a pair of true freshmen in Marcus Crowley and Steele Chambers, with three-star Miyan Williams set to join them in 2020.
