The 2019-20 college football season may have just ended, but that doesn’t mean all eyes can’t be moved to the next one.
Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, who will be a junior to start the 2020 campaign, is the favorite to win the 2020 Heisman Trophy, according to the betting sites Oddsshark and Fanduel.
Fanduel has Fields at +175 odds, meaning that a $100 bet would win you $175, and that would put Ohio State’s signal caller at 7/4 odds to win it. Behind Fields is Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who will also be a junior, at +430 (43/10 odds).
Oddsshark has Fields with slightly less odds at +250 (5/2), with Lawrence right behind him at +300 (3/1). Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez is No. 3 in the Fanduel odds and Alabama quarterback Mac Jones ranks third for Fanduel.
Betonline.ag has Lawrence ahead of Fields with 7/2 odds compared to Fields’ 4/1 odds. The website also places Ohio State with the third-best odds to win the national championship at 9/2, behind Clemson (9/4) and Alabama (7/2).
Ohio State finished this season as the No. 3 team in the country, according to the final Associated Press Top 25 poll. Fields also finished third in Heisman Trophy voting, behind LSU’s Joe Burrow and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts, while his teammate, defensive end Chase Young, finished fourth.
Both the quarterbacks that finished ahead of Fields, as well as Young, are leaving their respective programs and headed to the NFL.
