OSU Offensive Line Coach Justin Frye Accepting Position With Arizona Cardinals

After three seasons with Ohio State, Justin Frye is headed to the Arizona Cardinals

According to multiple reports, the Buckeyes’ offensive line coach is being hired for the same position with the Cardinals on Saturday.

Since coming to Ohio State from UCLA ahead of the 2022 season, Frye at times struggled to regularly recruit high-end talent, but on the field in 2024 his offensive line paved the way for running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins to each rush for 1,000 yards for the season.

Despite injuries to starting offensive linemen like Seth McLaughlin and Josh Simmons during the regular season, Frye’s unit helped lead a rushing attack that averaged 158 yards per game in the College Football Playoffs.

The Buckeyes were even better in pass protection, only giving up 1 sack per game in four playoff games.

In Arizona, Frye will again coach former Ohio State offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr., who he coached during his first year with the Buckeyes in 2022.

Frye is the second coach to leave Ohio State since it captured its first national championship in 2014, joining former defensive coordinator Jim Knowles who left Ohio State for the same position at Penn State.
