Ohio State running back Sam Williams-Dixon is returning to Columbus for the 2025 season. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the former three-star running back withdrew his name from the transfer portal on Wednesday.
Williams-Dixon had previously put his name into the transfer portal on Jan. 6, four days ahead of Ohio State’s Cotton Bowl Matchup with Texas.
In his true freshman season, Williams-Dixon had 53 rushing yards on seven carries. With the Buckeyes’ two leading rushers from 2024, Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson headed for the NFL draft, Williams-Dixon will have an opportunity for more playing time in 2025.
With Williams-Dixon returning, the Buckeyes will have ample depth at running back which also includes James Peoples, CJ Donaldson Jr.- a new addition from West Virginia out of the transfer portal- and freshmen running backs like Bo Jackson, Anthony Rogers and Isaiah West.
