Quarterback Devin Brown Entering Transfer Portal, Will Spend Rest Of Season With Team
After three years with the program, Ohio State junior quarterback Devin Brown announced he is entering the transfer portal on Twitter Sunday.
The Gilbert, Ariz., native will spend the rest of the season with the Buckeyes before looking for a new start elsewhere.
“I am beyond grateful for my time at Ohio State,” the statement from Brown said. “It has truly been an honor to wear the Scarlet and Gray.”
Brown came to Ohio State as the No. 6 quarterback in the class of 2022 and started the 2024 Cotton Bowl for the Buckeyes but only played 18 snaps due to an ankle injury. He completed 26 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns to one interception over his career, including a highlight-reel 17-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith against Michigan State on Sept. 28, a catch that Smith hauled in with one hand.
A three-star recruit coming out of high school, Brown played in a total of 16 games over three seasons and will enter the transfer portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining. The portal officially opens Monday but Brown will not find a new home until at least after the College Football Playoff contest against Tennessee on Dec. 21.
