Recruiting: Ohio State Sends Offers To Several 2026, 2027 Prospects After First Summer Camp

Ohio State held the first of its four one-day football camps held at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center this month on Wednesday, and the program wasted no time handing out offers to top prospects who put their talents on display.

Just hours after the two-hour camp ended, five recruits who attended the camp announced on Twitter that they have received an offer from Ohio State. That list included: Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne 2027 wide receiver Jamier Brown (5-11, 160); Marietta (Ga.); Walton unranked 2026 tight end Jude Cascone (6-2, 190); Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop three-star 2026 wide receiver/athlete Jerquaden Guilford (6-2, 170); Pittsburgh Aliquippa 2027 cornerback Larry Moon III (5-11, 170); Toledo Central Catholic four-star 2026 (6-0, 160) cornerback Victor Singleton; Avon, Ohio, four-star 2026 defensive back Jakob Weaherspoon and Brandon (Ms.) Hartfield Academy 2026 five-star safety Bralan Womack (5-11, 185).

Starting with the highest-rated recruit in Womack, Ohio State is the latest powerhouse program to offer the highly touted prospect after participating in the schools’ camps, with both Notre Dame and Penn State extending him scholarships in the last week. Womack, who was one of two five-stars to compete at Ohio State’s camp on Wednesday, is rated as the nation’s 21st-best prospect, third-best safety and No. 1 player in Missouri in the 2026 class. He also holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Louisville, LSU and Texas A&M, among others.

Competing alongside the five-star Womack in the secondary on Wednesday were Singleton and Weatherspoon, who each impressed during drills at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center while defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and secondary/cornerbacks coach Tim Walton looked on.

Starting with Singleton, the Ohio product is tabbed as the nation’s 144th-best prospect, 10th-best cornerback and sixth-best prospect in the Buckeye State. Like Womack, Singleton will be active this summer on the recruiting trail, also participating in camps in Wisconsin, Missouri and Tennessee later this summer, but it appears he is excited to earn a scholarship from his in-state school.

Weatherspoon is also a touted 2026 Ohio prospect, entering the camp as the seventh-best player in the state as well as the 196th-best overall player and 16th-best athlete. He made his presence known in camp, taking “first-team” reps throughout drills and reps and even appearing to impress Walton and safeties coach Matt Guerrieri with his 40-yard-dash time. This continues some positive momentum for the youngster, who has also recently been offered by Penn State and Cincinnati, among other schools.

Pittsburgh, who had some representation at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Wednesday, also offered him a scholarship shortly after the camp ended.

On the offensive side, Brown and Giulford are the two prospects that arguably had the best camp, with each of them flashing with their speed and catch ability in drills and 1-on-1 scrimmages with cornerbacks. Brown, who is currently unranked by 247Sports, is the first 2027 Ohio recruit to earn an offer from the Buckeyes. He holds offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State and Tennessee, among others.

Guilford also shone in camp, making an impressive catch towards the end of the session that drew some applause from onlookers and caught the eye of some of the Buckeye coaches in attendance. The Indiana native is the nation’s 477th-best prospect and 72nd-best wideout, and he has also camped at Notre Dame and the Under Armor Next Football Camp series held in Nashville this April.

While Cascone and Moon III appeared to excel at camp today, they both entered the day as unranked prospects. Not much is known about either prospect, but Cascone has already been offered by Georgia and Miami (Ohio), while Moon III has earned scholarships from Kentucky, LSU and Notre Dame.
