Another Buckeye will be gone after this season with true freshman running back Sam Williams-Dixon entering the transfer portal on Monday.
According to Jeremy Birmingham of Rivals, Williams-Dixon informed the team on Sunday that he wouldn’t be returning for the 2025 season. Birmingham reported that Williams-Dixon will not remain with the team throughout the remainder of the playoff run.
The running back came to Columbus as a three-star recruit out of Pickerington North in the 2024 class, but he wasn’t able to see much time on the field in his first year with the team, with just seven carries for 53 yards this season in blowouts early in the year.
Although TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins will both likely be gone next season, the Buckeyes have already added former West Virginia back CJ Donaldson through the transfer portal and signed three running backs in the 2025 class, along with true freshman James Peoples likely returning for a good workload next year.
Williams-Dixon is now the 12th Ohio State player to enter the transfer portal during this year’s winter window.
