It was reported on Tuesday night that Ohio State center Seth McLaughlin would miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles, and head coach Ryan Day confirmed that on Wednesday.
“Seth tore his Achilles. It was a non-contact injury,” he said. “We’re crushed for Seth and for our team. But once that wears off, it’s next man up mentality.”
Day said the team has decided what they will do with the offensive line and will move Carson Hinzman to center and start Austin Siereveld at left guard.
“We’ll move Carson to center and have Austin at left guard. Those guys were there today and had a very good practice, a very spirited practice.”
The Buckeyes match up against No. 5 Indiana on Saturday, their third top-five matchup of the season.
