Ryan Day Expects Will Kacmarek To Be Available Against No. 5 Indiana

Ryan Day said on Wednesday that tight end Wall Kacmarek is on track to be able to play this weekend, acknowledging that he will need to be cleared by the team doctors first.

Kacmarek has been dealing with an injury that he suffered on Oct. 12 on the first drive of the 32-31 loss to Oregon, and hasn’t been able to play since then, being listed on the injury report each week.

“He’s had a good week of practice, and we’ll see how he does tomorrow and see what he says and see what the doctors say. But he’s had a good week, and I think he’ll be available,” Day said.

However, the Ohio University transfer is trending in the right direction and could come back to back up starting tight end Gee Scott Jr., getting back to the gridiron for the Buckeyes in their top-five matchup against No. 5 Indiana.

In six games, Kacmarek has five catches for 58 yards, proving to be a threat in the passing game when he is needed, but he has earned his way to the spot he was in because of his blocking ability.

In what has been a tough week for Ohio State in terms of injuries, Kacmarek making it back to the field would be a welcome sight for the team.
