Former Ohio State defensive tackle Taron Vincent was invited to the Buffalo Bills rookie minicamp on Monday after going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Vincent recorded 23 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks during his final season at Ohio State. Across a five-year career in Columbus he totaled 58 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Exiting Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy as a five-star prospect, Vincent never quite realized the expectations placed on him entering Columbus, in large part due to injury. He missed all of 2019 with an ailment and played just four games in 2021 and nine games in 2022.
Still, he started on a defensive line that helped OSU finish 25th in the country in rush defense during his final collegiate campaign.
CBSSports graded Vincent as having the potential to be a future role player in the NFL, but not a starter.
“Taron Vincent is a shorter prospect who achieves natural leverage at the point of attack. He can do a better job of stacking and shedding blockers. The Maryland native had a 19.0% missed tackle rate last season and offers little as far as pass-rush potential. Vincent does clean up late in the down, playing to the whistle.”
