Ohio State is losing another member of its 2024 national championship and support staff.

According to multiple reports, graduate assistant LaAllan Clark has been hired by Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian to serve as the program’s outside linebackers coach. The news was first reported by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, and Clark essentially confirmed the news when he made an apparent farewell post to Ohio State on Twitter and changed his Twitter bio to “Outside LB Coach @Texasfootball.”

“Thank you Ohio State for these past two years and all the relationships that were made!!” Clark said in a post that included two pictures of him with the College Football Playoff national championship trophy. “Thankful God gave me a chance to become a Buckeye!!”

Clark leaves Ohio State after spending two years as a defensive line graduate assistant for the Buckeyes, where he helped mold a talented defensive front that helped the team finish the 2024 season ranked third in both rushing defense at 87.6 yards allowed per game on the ground and team sacks with 53.

The former college defensive end also spent time as a defensive ends coach with Grambling State, Northwestern State and Southern before joining the Buckeyes.

Clark — who is the CEO of LC Performance, a football training organization that has helped mold some of the NFL’s best pass rushers such as Danielle Hunter, Ed Oliver and Jeffrey Simmons, among others — will bring his expertise to a Texas defense that now also includes former Ohio State defensive lineman Hero Kanu, who committed to the Longhorns last Wednesday after spending three seasons with the Buckeyes.

Clark is one of seven departures from Ohio State’s coaching and support staff this season, including fellow graduate assistant Mike Sollene (UNLV), director of recruiting and events Morgan Phillips (LSU), offensive assistant Riley Larkin (New England Patriots), defensive coordinator Jim Knowles (Penn State), offensive line coach Justin Frye (Arizona Cardinals) and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly (Las Vegas Raiders).
