Ohio State had several transfer portal-bound players partake in an indoor practice period open to the media on Monday. Offensive tackles George Fitzpatrick and Zen Michalski, defensive end Mitchell Melton, and running back Sam Williams-Dixon, all of whom either previously entered the transfer portal recently or will eventually enter the transfer portal.

The Buckeyes were also joined by new additions from the transfer portal, including former Minnesota offensive tackle Phillip Daniels, former Rice offensive tackle Ethan Onianwa, and former West Virginia running back CJ Donaldson Jr.

Ohio State also had some of its incoming 2025 freshmen participate in practice including former five-star quarterback Tavien St. Clair and former four-star offensive lineman Carter Lowe.

The period of practice open to the media mainly consisted of the players stretching and doing some light jogging. The Buckeyes seemed loose ahead of their College Football Playoff matchup against Texas on Jan. 10, as senior defensive ends Jack Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoloua practiced some celebratory handshakes with fellow teammates.
