Ohio State 2023 shooting guard commit George Washington III and several players on the Buckeyes’ radar are participating in the National Basketball Players Association’s Top 100 Camp, running from Monday until Saturday in Orlando, Fla.
Washington III is the lone Buckeye commit competing at the camp, but multiple Ohio State targets will join him at the camp — most notably 2023 small forwards Scotty Middleton and Devin Royal. The trio of 2023 prospects are flanked by 2025 shooting guard Darryn Peterson, who has already received an offer from Ohio State according to 247Sports.
Washington III, Middleton, Royal and Peterson will get the opportunity to work with current and former NBA coaches and players at the camp, as well as compete against some of the nation’s top high school prospects.
More than 300 participants from the NBPA Top 100 Camp have gone on to have NBA careers since its creation in 1994, including Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. Several NBA Buckeyes have also taken part in the camp, as Mike Conley Jr., Kosta Koufos, D’Angelo Russell and E.J. Liddell all competed at the camp during their high school years.
NBA veteran and Houston Rockets assistant coach John Lucas II serves as the primary scouting consultant for the NBPA Top 100 Camp and his basketball development company, John Lucas Enterprises, is tasked with compiling the roster for the Top 100 Camp each year.
