Seventeen months after he suffered a devastating spinal injury in which doctors told him he had a 20 percent chance of walking again, former Ohio State and current Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier danced with his wife at their wedding on Saturday.
In a video shared on Twitter over the weekend, Shazier and Michelle Williams can be seen waving their arms in the air while dancing to “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan.
About a year and a half ago, Ryan Shazier was told he had a 20% chance of ever walking again. This was him today at his wedding.. Anything is possible! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

The 26-year-old Shazier has been sidelined since December 2017, having suffered the injury during a Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He’s made tremendous progress in the meantime thanks to a grueling rehabilitation program and has maintained that he wants to eventually play football again.
“I’ve been working my tail off every single day, so I have that in the back of my mind every single time I go to rehab,” Shazier said. “I just try to stay positive every day, so I’m just trying to do everything I can to get back.”
The Steelers placed Shazier, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and two-time Pro Bowler, on the reserve/physically unable to perform list in March, but he remains on the active roster. He will earn a salary commensurate with his years of service to the NFL, continue to accrue seasons toward his players’ pension and receive the same medical insurance coverage as all active players.
