Before the 2019 season has even begun, two members of Ohio State’s defense have earned some national acclaim.
The pair of Buckeyes — junior defensive end Chase Young and senior safety Jordan Fuller — have been listed on the Associated Press’ Preseason All-American teams, with Young earning first-team honors and Fuller finding a place on the second team.
Young and Fuller were two of 10 Big Ten players to be selected to either the first or second team.
Young finished his 2018 campaign with 34 tackles, 15 1/2 tackles for loss and 10 1/2 sacks. Fuller tied for the team lead with 81 tackles, and had an interception and two fumble recoveries.
Fuller was votes to Second Team All-Big Ten in 2018 by the media, while Young made Second Team All-Big Ten as voted on by the coaches.
